Good Food for One and All

Our vision is for everyone in Cornwall to have access to healthy and affordable food, and for that food to be produced in a way that protects the planet, connects our communities and contributes to a fair and thriving economy.

What We Do

Cornwall’s food system is a complex web of activities involving the production, processing, transport and consumption of food and drink by over half a million residents and five million visitors a year.

Changing the food system demands a systems approach. This means having a vision and plan to achieve change across a breadth of different but connected food issues. It also means local people and organisations, active at all levels and across all parts of the food system, working together. No single organisation, whether public, private or third sector, holds the powers, remit, or insight to change the local food system alone.

The aim of our partnership is to support cross-sector working on food system change, enabling public agencies, community organisations, businesses, and academics to collaborate on priorities and action for Cornwall.

We focus on 6 key issues identified within the Sustainable Food Places framework as being fundamental to lasting food system change:

Cornwall Food Strategy

Our partnership is working to improve the governance of our food system so that together we can create and hold a Sustainable Food Strategy for Cornwall.

Good Food Movement

Everyone – families, schools, care-homes, businesses, universities, colleges, community groups and individuals – is a food citizen and can be a part of the good food movement. Find out more and sign the Cornwall & Isles of Scilly Food here.

Healthy Food For One & All

We aim to make Cornwall’s local food system our community immune system – ensuring everyone has access to good food that delivers health and wellbeing.

Sustainable Food Economy

One of our top 3 priorities is to find more and better ways to support Cornwall’s agri and food businesses to help them thrive for the benefit of all.

Catering And Procurement

Let’s work to keep as many of the millions of pounds spent on food in Cornwall every year IN Cornwall!  We want to help canteens across Cornwall to source and to serve healthy, sustainable and local food.

Food For The Planet

Our food system is contributing to the climate and nature emergencies – but can be part of the solution. As well as cutting climate emissions, we can protect our seas, regenerate our soils and increase biodiversity by changing the ways we produce our food and cutting food waste.
