Making good food work on the farm and in the marketplace

The final part of our second Cornwall Good Food Summit at Nancarrow Farm on Monday 2 December asks everyone to explore the barriers that prevent the food system from changing for the better. What can we all do to move things on?

Summit participants can choose between two different breakout sessions.

In ‘Making it work in the marketplace’ we’re being asked to reflect on the challenges consumers face in obtaining local, sustainable food in Cornwall. How do we make it more easily available?

We’ll hear from two people who took part in the Food Conversation enabled by the Food, Farming and Countryside Commission in Cornwall and across the four nations:

* Lucy Jones of the Cornish Food Box Company and Cornwall Food and Farming Group

* Food Conversation citizen participant Paul Fowler

In ‘Making it work on the farm’ we’ll hear from two farmers / producers:

* Anthony Ellis of Pensipple Farm, Looe and the Farm Carbon Toolkit

* Mark Williams and Inez Williams-King of Presingoll Farm and The Grower tree nursery, St Agnes

They’ll share examples of how they’re innovating, diversifying and adapting to produce good food, care for the planet and develop a viable business in a challenging environment.
